Infographics Topics.
Not sure how much detail we need, so I'll list he topics, and if necessary I'll elaborate based on any feedback.
1 - The difference between Instructional Theory and Learning Theory. I think it would be useful to have a visual to represent what instructional theories are and aren't, and how they differ from learning theories, and other types of theories.
2 - Complex Adaptive Systems. Complexity Sciences and Chaos Theory have become important for educators to understand learning environments and how to apply a systems view to educational situations. It would be useful to have an infographic that explains those concepts and shows the analogies in education.
Wow, you don't go light, do you? Both seem like great ideas. Seems like the key to each is in definitions and examples.
ReplyDeleteYou second thought sounds really interesting. What came up with my mind right away is an image of butterfly effect. Concentric circles having a little incident in the middle then show how this little incident can gradually affect the whole system!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the feedback,
DeleteI like how you describe it, I can almost see it! I have opted for the other one though!
I'm going to do the first one, because it seems like a bigger challenge, so here I go!
Since I really don't know the difference between Instructional Theory and Learning Theory, but would like to, I vote for this one. And I personally think a comparison infographic would be easier to do than an explanatory one. JMO.
ReplyDeleteGood call AKK!
Deletethat's the one I'm going for, because I am currently learning the difference myself, and doing this will help me augment my understanding.
Yes, my thoughts are to do a compare/contrat, but I might have a section with definitions.
Thanks!
Hi Ricardo,
ReplyDeleteI hope this semester is off to a good start for you. I checked the schedule and saw you were my new Hoosier buddy so I thought I would check out your blog and see what you were up to. Both of these topics sound like they would work and would have practical applications and value. Have you decided on one? What types of images are you planning on using? Are you going to create them yourself?
Hi Jeff!
Deletesorry for the late reply, I am trying to find your blog address. This would have been a lot easier if we did this in Oncourse to keep us loacalized on the LMS.
I am going to try out the Learning Theories idea, because that one will be hard to do graphics for, so I'll be challenged to think of creative ways in which I can use other visual elements on the page to convey the information.
I'll find your blog and give you feedback!
Hi all,
ReplyDeleteI did not realize there were comments in here. Sorry about that! (I have a million accounts of stuff I'm signed up for and it can get overwhelming constantly checking all accounts)
I decided to give the Learning Theories concept a shot, since that is what we are learning in myR626 class, and making the infographic will help me augment my understanding of the material.
